2011 Track Junkie Thread

I did this last year. Once I put the roll bar in and got out on the track, I realized that the above is true... x1(insert a lot of zeros).
I think you're better off riding with someone once you've done a track day or two - just so you know what you're looking for. Rob and Pete were kind enough to let me ride along, and basically turned me green both sessions.

Looks like Summit Main is going thru a lot of changes/improvements. A detailed report is here --> http://www.nasaforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=40936

This just FAILS. None of us are posting from VIR. Without Skip, and the Red Roof Inn, I just couldn't do it.
I really miss that place and the pizza at Aunt Millie's.
I saw Eric kicked Ass.

Who went down to VIR? I saw Sheel's FB pics so I know he's down there.
I really enjoyed VIR but I can do a lot of Summit track days for one weekend down there and prepping the car for racing has put a pretty good dent in the wallet.

I finished replacing both front lower ball joints, right front hub and bearing and I re-torqued the front left axle nut that Oleg replaced at the track. The hydraulic press has now paid for itself many times over.
I also got the RacingBrake rear big brake kit from Motorsports Performance Group installed. Hopefully the two-piece rotors will keep the rear bearings from cooking. I was already taking points for the Accord/NSX front brakes so this was a "free" upgrade.

Yeah, who's at VIR?
I'm definitely interested on hearing your review on the new RB big brake kit, Rob. Since my rear pads wore out first before the fronts, I think I'm running a lot hotter also in the rear.
Roll fenders - Checked.
Thanks, Oleg! Oleg did a great job, you can't even tell it was rolled unless you put your fingers on it.
Hellaflush wheels, coming soon.

Any of y'all want or need another HD video camera for in-car use? I have a new untouched Kodak Zi8 with a spare Kodak battery and an 8GB class 4 card. Skip recommended this model to me so I bought one and it broke shortly thereafter. This one I'm selling now is the replacement they sent me under warranty, I haven't even opened the box, I'm selling it to help fund another Gopro instead. $100 for everything (the spare battery and SD card by themselves are worth $30), can ship for +$5 or deliver to Summit NASA Apr 9-10 for +$0.
