Hey Rob,

I am not ready but should be in a few weeks, other than new tires, brake pads and fluid maintenance I am ready.

Ear plugs, I wear them all the time when driving the Miata, cuts out the drone, and I can still hear the radio when turned way up.

Matt, the roll bar looks good but get used to the noise, it will only get louder as continue to strip out the interior.

Matt, rollbar looks good. Looks like it's set up for cage in the future.

My car has nothing left back there too so the noise is pretty loud. Thanks God, I like my exhaust's sound.

I will tell you that they are a VIBRANT gold alloy powder coat and pictures do them no justice. I was having buyers remorse bout getting OZ ultraleggera 18" 8 and 9 wide front and rear respectively (instead of saving for the 949 that i've wanted since before they came out). but as soon as i saw these puppies all of that remorse left and i can't wait to get them installed!

I'm focusing on getting the comp license right now but I may make the run to VIR later in the year.
Good idea. Anyone want to lend me said headset?

Rob, do cheaper versions of these headsets work well too? I don't really want to spend 300 bucks on a set.

I don't know about other noise cancelling headsets but you'd probably need an over-the-ear type to help with the loud drone of a modified exhaust. I have a QC2 that I bought to use as an aviation headset but Southwest outlawed their use because when the batteries go dead you can't hear the aircraft radios. I'll loan mine to you if we see each other before VIR.

I've had really good experience from the Shure in-ear headphones. They come with a wide range of ear pieces so you get a very snug fit in the ear canal. It's like wearing earplugs that just happen to also be speakers. Great sound blocking power.

I bought mine years ago, and they no longer make the exact model, but this is what I'm talking about: http://www.amazon.com/Shure-SE115-K-.../dp/B001TDMVO0

Those in-ear phones would probably garner less attention from the highway patrol too.
