I passed the FATT IC today and I guess some folks didn't.

From what I understand, this clinic was like none other. It was definitely all they could possibly pack into one day.

It was a lot of fun and pretty tiring. They put a lot of effort and investment into the day, as well.
Like.

Rob - I would like to make it there this year too. Do you have any dates in mind? I think NASA Great Lakes has one in July that won't work for me. I am sure there are some other clubs with dates that would work. I just haven't gotten around to figuring that out.
Great Lakes @ Mid Ohio
April 9-10 = TOO COLD
July 16-19 = maybe
August 13-14 = more likely

August will be more crowded being one month before nationals. But then again, Mid Ohio is always crowded. I really don't run with other organizations unless it's a track that NASA doesn't go, like Barber Motorsports Park. And, I've yet to make it to that track.

They've never done an "IC" before, it was pretty informal. Sounds like the new FATT boss is changing things for the better.
IC = instructor clinic?

I have been to 3 of the BSR ICs (this year will be my 4th BSR IC). At all of them, some people were NOT accepted (some were asked to come back and attempt a second IC for additional work, other people simply were not considered ready to instruct).

They are apparently trying some new stuff at this clinic, I am looking forward to it.

I have been to about 8-10 instructor clinics but I still learn something new (or at least gain new perspective on an instructor technique) at each one.

Congrats to Lou!

Pete, you, Rob and George will have a blast. Matt , you will have a lot of fun too.

If I had not attended the NASA instructor classes, I would have failed miseraby.

Yes Pete, IC was for instructor clinic.

August 13th and 14th sounds promising.

So thanks to Pete I think my clucking koni / ground control coilover mystery is solved.

We dissasembled the rear coilovers and on both sides the top rubber over metal bushing in the top hat was worn down to the metal halfway around. So, the metal sleeve around the damper shaft was rubbing on metal inside the rubber bushing. The working theory is that this wear was a result of the negative camber that Skip ran, which looked like a lot IIRC.

The good news is this is not a big deal. Its annoying but not dangerous and I should be able to make the noise go away with a cheap part. Either that or buy some trick metal pillowball tophats.

Glad to hear you found the source. Are you going to run the same alignment as Skip? It worked pretty well.

Then if they are on the same side of the car, as they were on his, you should be good to go.
