Classic Footage from the Ring

Seat belts optional and make sure you have a ton of personal crap in your car.

Some scary stuff, especially the crashes sans seat belts.

I really thought that Beetle convertible was going to flip. With 4 people in it, no less! That would have been really ugly.

I love it when the guy just falls out of his beetle at around 1:36 like he is falling off a bicycle.

Different times, I wonder how many fatalities they had per year back then or if most of them weren't going fast enough to do much damage in those crap boxes.

Having been rolled last year, I have a better appreciation for those events than I previously did.

I do have the BYS rail. It's lower, but not that much lower and I think it changes the seats geometry enough to cause lower back pain on longer trips. (It seems the lower the back of the seat more than the front.)

I don't want this to sound completely negative, it did help some. Matt, you are in need of significant lowering.

Looks like my Sparco Rev seats with Taitec rails are now for sale.

PS. These are narrow seats with outstanding side bolstering. They do not hit door panels or center consoles. Consequently, they are narrow. Over 33" waists need not apply.
DAMN YOU... i wish i had the money haha.

Those crashes were crazy, amazing how very little safety if there is one the vehicles have back then. And the people's mindset about car safety was non-existent.

Cool video though.

Aw, that's pretty much what I was expecting. Thanks for the info though.
