Skip, what size was yours and would you recommend a different size?

Rob - Erik O. was trying to sell Skip's old trailer. I am not sure if he still has it.

TigerDirect is having a sale on the very nice ContourHD1080P (what I run) camera for $100. If you need a camera this is an unbelievable deal.

AFAIK EJO still has the trailer but..............it is a beast of a trailer and not Aluminum. I do not know where to find them except new from ATC (Aluminum Trailer Company). Skip's ol' Big Red was 28 feet of steel. Loaded it would be too much for my Dodge 1500. If Al you could go that big but steel 24 feet might be the biggest you would go unless you have a dually and can support the extra tongue weight.

^^^I asked the same question from a friend that works for state farm. I emphasized that it was driver education, not timed, and included classroom instruction. She said that State Farm would likely cover damages 1x but would likely drop you afterwards.
Interesting. My state farm agent is a former track guy (Spec E30) who knows all about HPDE because he has done many of 'em himself. He quietly informed me a few years ago that the policy language - in VA anyway - was changing to exclude coverage for any incident "on a racing surface" which meant pace laps, touring laps, and HPDE all would not be covered.
What about autocross? Time to start taping over/removing my license plates before going? I always heard it was only the cheaper insurance companies with the gimmicky commercials that did stuff like that, but maybe State Farm is learning turning to the dark side as well. They dropped my friend for being "high risk" after his s2k had its seats stolen. It was a good idea for them too, since the whole car got stolen not too long after.

Thanks jfo, yea 28 feet is too big. I'm thinking more along the lines of a 24 footer. I'm looking at ATC right now, thanks for the lead.

I think it's much better. Take a look at any of my most recent youtube (robrobinette) videos and select HD to see how good it is (the video straight from the camera is even better of course).

I had an original GoPro and the sound sucked because of the plastic housing. It's also difficult to determine if it's really recording or not. I also had battery longevity issues. The actual video quality seems comperable. One thing to keep in mind is to order the tripod screw mount adapter because it doesn't come with one. It's inexpensive but it really should be included.
