2011 Track Junkie Thread

Actually, the oem splitter thing and modded fenders push me over. The rules on that stuff are stupid.

Next weekend I'm going to be doing another small event like the one I ran a couple weeks ago. Last time I went I was running on 100% OEM brakes except for new Super Blue fluid. The car felt fine early in the day buy by the end my braking wasn't not inspiring much confidence and the pedal started to feel crappier.
I recently picked up some stainless lines and HP+ pads. I'm pressed for free time to work on the car this weekend and will be spending the entire coming week out of town for work. I know I have more than enough time tomorrow to at least change all the pads. If I just change the pads I shouldn't have to flush the brakes again right? and is it really going to hurt performance still running the stock lines? (Car is a 06 with 30k miles if it makes a difference). I've changed pads many many times but lines I've only done a few times and I know the fluid is going to take longer to do. I want to make sure that I don't cut corners and really do it right so I'd rather wait.
The track I'm running on is fairly small and there are really only 3 corners that require significant braking. 100 down to ~60ish and two corners of 75ish down to ~35.

^I'm definitely aware of the dangers going too long on the original brake lines. This will be the last event I run on the factory lines before they get changed. I just simply don't think I have the time to do it right. The s2000 isn't my daily anymore so it won't get driven very much before and after that event when I do actually have time to swap the lines. If I get lucky and the pad swap goes faster than expected and I can do it this weekend I will. Otherwise it'll have to wait until after.

Any run off room? Mentally run through what you'd do if you lost braking in any of the braking zones.

This just proves that the best safety engineering can only do so much. Yet we must use all of it we can possibly afford.
