This is how early you have to turn in for Summit Main's Turn 9 when flat out and understeering. Notice the yellow centering tape on the wheel. This is a screen capture from my 121.7 lap:

You know I saw that pic before the weekend and made a mental note of it. And thought to myself while on track that I would drive right off into the grass if I tried it. I really tried ;-) Next time I will get it. One of those things where your instinct is just wrong.

Finally, if you are doing a classic late turn-in/apex in T9 you will push. There is a different line (earlier turn in, right on the curbing so you can straighten the wheel at apex and have minimal steering input over the bump in the middle of the track.

If you can't time a shift for T7, then just do a tiny lift throttle to get the rear positioned and shift as you come prepare entry into T8.
As Pete said, the best line through T9 is not the traditional line. It did seem, however, that exiting T9 the crown was not as evident this past weekend. Most likely because my student and I were both on supple suspension. Matt, Lou- did either of you notice a decrease in the crowned area beyond apex?
Are you referring to the feeling where the car seems to feel light over the crown and then car settles on all 4 wheels as you get over the crown?

Last event I attended my instructor got me to the right point there and it's a big difference in how the car feels. As the weight of the car comes down and settles heavily it gets a lot of traction.

Most of us do this without mentally noting it, but when the car goes over a hill or crown like in Turn 9 we instinctively counter-steer a little when the car goes light, then add back in the steering as the car "lands" on the other side. You need to do this over the hill just after the apex of Turn 3 also.
