So for a semi-dedicated track car, would something like -2F, -3R or -2F, -2.5R be ok?

It depends how much street the car will see and how sensitive you are to buying tires that wear out the inside shoulder.

Does the fact you have more up front have anything to do with having a rear wing, or more due to the stiffness of your front sway bar?

My alignment settings give the best tire temperatures across the tread and nimbleness for fast lap times. Most people would call my car "nervous, twitchy, unstable" but if you can control the over steer it's the fastest way around the track.

Speaking of alignment settings, what toe do you run in the front. I zeroed it out during my last alignment and I found it to be kind of twitchy/sensitive at high speeds.

I run the Shop Manual spec toe settings, 0 in front and 0.25 inch total toe-in in the rear. I tried less rear toe-in and I didn't like it. On high speed corner turn-in I would have to immediately correct for over steer before the car would settle in for the corner. Stock toe-in solved that problem.

You want a C%$t hair of front toe, I was told once. Helped make my S2000 stable.

I ran toe out on the vette and zero rear toe. It was stable like a rock at 150. I am zero toe around with the Miata, it's not capable of high speeds. It probably has toe out now from 2+ years of curbs and off track exercises.

Different cars.

I have zero toe-in at front and rear is what ever euro spec is. Neg 2.5 camber all the way around on square tire set up. I like it a lot at SP Main and Jefferson, it feels I was making fast laps even though I was slower in front straight due to wing downforce. What I lose in straight away speed I gain it back and more in most turns.

I think I will tell p-tuning to do that next time. Mine isn't bad, but I would like it a bit more stable.

I'm not sure when I'll get the rollbar installed. I need to make up my mind about what I'll do with the bulkhead before I get that far. I wouldn't mind getting it knocked out next weekend though.

Remember toe changes during hard braking. The give in the suspension bushings allow some toe-out and trail braking will keep some of that toe-out as you begin to turn. I think that's the main reason I need stock toe-in settings--I trail brake the s*%t out of my car.

Is anyone going to Track Daze Aug 25-26th @ VIR? I'm on the fence, but if others are going and are willing to share a room, I will probably go.
I'll be there
What are you doing for lodging?

The Lodge but sadly my rooms already full

I've never run with Track Daze but I've heard their events are excellent. Whats up with Mazda Drivers? They've been running great events for years and now nothing? Shame..

Has anyone here run XP12/XP8 or XP12/XP10? I've been running XP10/XP8 on R888 225/245 for a couple years now but I'd now prefer something with a higher initial bite..

I ran both XP10 front and rear, and XP12 front and XP10 rear. You will get more initial bite with XP12s but they will eat your rotors big time.
