Too expensive I decided Star specs are $100 more a tire than 17" in one particular size. That's like a 40% increase!

Hey HyperFest guys, did any of you note slower lap times on the new Summit Point Main surface? After analyzing my TraqMate data I hit 131mph GPS speed at the end of the front straight during my last outing. That's 3mph faster than my previous best and occurred during 90 degree heat so the dyno tune and valve adjustment definitely added some power but I was 2 1/2 seconds slower than my best lap on NT01 tires. That's how bad the grip was in the corners.

Actualy I did not noticed much slower turns because I used R comp (old NT01) tires this time so it felt faster to me, but only hitting 120mph at the end of front straight. I did noticed though that in turn 10, I easily slide out all the way of out the edge of track way passed the rumble strip even with the R comp tires hitting exit speed of only 80 mph on fourth gear. For the first time though, I was able to go WOT on 3rd gear coming out of T4 throttle left on T5 approach and go flat out exit of T5 thru T6 and slightly left on T7 then flat out again on T8 and T9. If I stay 3rd gear on T9 I tap out on exit so I have shift to 4th.

Sunday morning first session, I used my no thread left Star Specs because the track was damp and it was sprinkling so that was very hairy in every corner for me. But I saw Jason with good threaded Star Spec and other high powered cars who did not slow down. But a red Evo who passed me because I was slow, lost it in the chute and hit the tire walls.

I need to get me one of those data logger to analyze my driving properly.

At least he didn't word it like "Want to get a room?"

Ha I would like to try and make it though. I also would like to get at least one FATT in before then. Are there any other track days in between there?

Still considering it at this time. Wifey is all gung-Ho about going. So won't be sharing a room if I do go.

Sorry to burst your bubble Ron.

Check out TrackDaze, great for beginners because you get more seat time vs running with NASA or SCCA. I am currently thinking about going to VIR in Aug.
