It would be my first time at the track ever. Do I have to have a roll bar even with a hard top? I would have to remove the tonneau cover that the CR comes with.

TrackDaze on Shenendoah - and it depends on how tall you and your instructor are.
(i'd email the planners first and plead your case. they're not obligated to let you run without.)

For you guys running wings here's an easy way to reinforce the trunk a little. My wing was beginning to push my trunk lid down a little:
So I stuck 4 (2 each side) self stick "rubber feet" (used to support electronics) on the brake light housing where the stock trunk lid support rests.
I've run a couple of events and they seem to be preventing the trunk lid from settling any more. It makes closing the trunk lid a little harder though. I hold both wing supports when I close the lid to keep from stressing the wing and mounts too much. I got the "rubber feet" at Home Depot.

I don't know of any hard core S2000 track guys that run 18 inch wheels. Check out r compound tire prices and you'll see why. Most of us run non-staggered 255x4 (or 245x4 Hoosiers).

Yeah, that is what I figured...I know from looking at street tires the 18" ones were nearly double the price. I was just wondering because these wheels are flow formed and built to order and let you pick your own offset. Too many of the wheels I actually like have too low of an offset.
