Well, first start by getting a roll bar from Hard Dog and getting it installed. This is my writeup: https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/868...-is-installed/

Then, get upgraded brake pads and/or fluid (I just did pads, rotors, stainless lines, and ATE Super Blue)

and make sure your tires are good (I got new Hankook Ventus V12)

and then sign up for a Friday At The Track or another NASA or SCCA HPDE event. You would be HPDE 1, which is the classification by skill level, 1-4.

I just did an HPDE 1 this last weekend, my first one, so if you have any questions just ask. Although I'm sure a lot of the more experienced guys will chime in.

Have you done track events before in another car or would this be your first one?

It would be my first time at the track ever. Do I have to have a roll bar even with a hard top? I would have to remove the tonneau cover that the CR comes with.

You can probably run with SCCA as a CR with a hardtop, but probably not with other organizations.
