Default 2006+ s2000 Seat Reprogramming

I just swapped my 06 seats with 07 seats from another member on the forum. I'm getting the SRS/Airbag light. Is there any Honda Tech in the NOVA area who can help me reprogram the seats??? I need to get it done ASAP for state inspections THIS MONTH (SEPTEMBER)!!!

Please PM me!

Can this even be done? I don't know how the system works, but I'm pretty sure there's no such thing as an airbag simulator, which I think you would need to fool the system into thinking the correct seat is there.

Might want to search/ask in UTH if this is possible at all. I'd guess the answer is no

Resetting the light is possible, but it'll just come right back on if it's not getting the right signal.

Disconnecting the battery won't work. There's a kind of complicated process you have to go through to reset airbag codes. There are threads about how to do it though.

Is this just a SRS re-set?

You can do that with a paper clip *(at least on the AP1 you could)

Loc, sorry about not getting back with you sooner. I've come down with yet ANOTHER sinus infection. (if you ask some of the guys on this board they will verify, I'm prone to getting them very bad... coughing up mucus/blood mix, etc etc).

Nonetheless, try to shoot Gigdy a message. I messaged him about helping to put in my Personal Wheel and he was very helpful. Looking through a lot of the "SRS Light" threads he has been very active in posting and helping. He might be able to assist.

From what I read though it looks like you have to take the car to a Honda Dealer, have them recalibrate the weight sensors in passenger seat & clear the code with their Scanner Tool & then you are good to go.
Believe you can clear the code yourself with a special Honda tool (some guys make their own), but it looks very detailed.
Tony (moparacker) has the S2000 Repair Manual in an actual computer file. It provides details on how to clear the code. Maybe I can find a way to get it from him and have it accessible online for everyone.

http://www.hondahookup.com/manuals/

Here you go. You have to register, but it's free... basically just a forum. Register there & you can download the Service Manual.

Clearing the code is pretty easy, I read up on it and I have the right pieces of hardware to do it (being an electrical engineer gives me access to all the resistors and switches I need ). The thing that needs to be done is to have the weight sensors reprogrammed to the vehicle. I have done extensive research on this and I'm pretty sure that's what I need to do. I just didn't want to go to the dealer because I don't want my the warranty on my SRS system to be voided (you know how dealerships are). I can't pull the "I don't know what happened" thing because the seats are not registered to the car, and I think they might be able to find out or at least figure out something is funny. I'm almost certain that swapping the seat sensors would work... if you have any availability at all, that would make my life so much easier. I'll pay for shipping if that helps. But I'll probably have to bring my car into the dealership at the end of next week if you can't find time to send the sensors, since my inspection is expiring this month... Sorry to hear that you are sick though, hope you feel better soon bro.
