we got like 6" of the R stuff... Glad my S is in the garage getting some winter touch ups... and some very fine looking calipers... I really want to do the other two over again. The last two turned out a 500% better than the first two. But fcukit nobody else will notice.

well it was only for a split second, and then i hit the clutch back in, .. afterwards, the car sounded like basically sounded like it was running on 3 cylinders, . .and i couldnt hear my invidia over all the knocking (thats how loud it was) i was pretty damn scared from what ive read about repair costs, so i wasnt quite in the mood to post about it, but i just got the estimate from honda, 1500, .. ill accept that as a lesson. its much better than the 3-4000 i was expecting. they said that i bent a valve, and that only 1 cylinder was losing compression. so they are replacing the 2 intake and 2 exhaust valves on that cylinder etc. the sad thing is that i could never concieve how someone could mis-shift, but i guess it can happen to anyone, if you just get a little overzealous. it probably didnt help that i havent really practiced aggressive shifting since i put on my spoon knob, maybe the lower throw threw me off.

What do you all think of me painting the whole car Diamond Black? Talking to the painters at work it sounds like they'll cut me a hell of a deal doing it as side work.....this would be in a few months of course.

Tony, make damn sure they check the rest of the valve retainers.... they can fractured/cracked without any symptoms. If they go, you will be doind this repair all over again.

I like it. I think that it would stand out better if you retained some silver in the mix.
It is pretty cool how it is black in the dark and a really dark Silver in the light - maybe we could add a little more metal flake to it

thanks steve, ill be sure to do that. on the same note, do you know of anyone that has had this done? if so, how was their car further down the road? im just wondering if i am going to have to worry about the car dying about 10K miles in the future, and i dont want to be scared to actually DRIVE it either. no point in having the car if i am going to baby it.
