I would also like to point out that this new CO will be but 1/4th of the leadership. Any concerns any of you might have about one particular representative should be tempered by the fact that Brian, Bill, and I will still be here doing what we have been doing.

A new perspective may be good for our community.

I don't think we can set a "criteria" for what it takes to be a CO. In my opinion, it is more of a passion than a set of A, B, and C type characteristics. While it is obvious that CO's have influence over the community, the fact that the community still belongs to the membership may not be as obvious. We don't run the show, y'all do.

I think that the person who fills this roll needs to be level headed, considerate, respectful, and aware. The CO will need to enforce the rules of the community evenly to everyone; best friend to worst enemy. The other side of that coin is that you can't just take the requests of one person to heart. Just because I may want something done differently while everyone else is vocal or silent on the subject does not mean it should be done.

Just think of whether or not you think you can be fair and even in your motivations. If you can not, you have no business being a leader and representing our community.

Can a person who has only been around for 6 months do this? Perhaps but it will be hard. Especially since most of the membership will not know who you are. I have been here for a touch over two years and I do not know many of you. I think that is where the trouble will be.

Good luck to everyone who gets nominated. And to the person that gets the nod.
Agreed, but your stating what I have said. I agree Vu is qualified, but I just think he should put a few more months in setting things up to show he is here for the long haul. We have had many people come through and go meet-crazy only to fall off the board after 8-10 months.

I think Ross, Jeff (cap1), or Aaron would all make good candidates for CO, but Ross/Jeff don't really live in the targeted CO area. I know Bill didn't live in NoVA when he was the NoVA CO, but he worked in NoVA at least ...

Does that matter? I'm just asking the question from a nominations perspective.

Both Jeff and Ross live in the area we are looking at. Aaron as well. Tysons south to fredericksburg is the area Im looking at, which closes most of our gap...

I nominate:
Aaron
Jeff
Ross

I decided the above order by their proximity to the area under consideration.
