Ok guys, although I see Vu has great leadership qualities and would do well as a CO later down the road. I just dont think it would be fair since he has only been present for less than 4 months. The last thing we need is someone who comes in and then loses interest after 6 months of membership and leaves us in the same place we are now. Its easy to say you wont, but actions speak louder than words. So lets get Vu some experience! Keep setting up your meets.

As a new member I set up meets and events for close to a year and a half before becoming CO, we need someone who is seasoned and knows our community as well as Jeff, Bill and I do.

Perhaps you should amend the criteria for CO consideration to include a minimum "membership" duration

...just another "brilliant" (half baked) idea.....

I don't think we can set a "criteria" for what it takes to be a CO. In my opinion, it is more of a passion than a set of A, B, and C type characteristics. While it is obvious that CO's have influence over the community, the fact that the community still belongs to the membership may not be as obvious. We don't run the show, y'all do.

I think that the person who fills this roll needs to be level headed, considerate, respectful, and aware. The CO will need to enforce the rules of the community evenly to everyone; best friend to worst enemy. The other side of that coin is that you can't just take the requests of one person to heart. Just because I may want something done differently while everyone else is vocal or silent on the subject does not mean it should be done.

Just think of whether or not you think you can be fair and even in your motivations. If you can not, you have no business being a leader and representing our community.

Can a person who has only been around for 6 months do this? Perhaps but it will be hard. Especially since most of the membership will not know who you are. I have been here for a touch over two years and I do not know many of you. I think that is where the trouble will be.

Good luck to everyone who gets nominated. And to the person that gets the nod.
