I'm in Hawkes Bay, on the East Coast of the North Island. Sue's wouldn't have been the only one in NZ but they're certainly not common - I pulled the numbers from the motor vehicle register a couple of months ago and there were 309 on the roads. Mine's one of 121 NZ-new ones still around, while the rest are imports, mainly from Japan but a few from the UK Australia, South Africe and even one from the US. Currently there's 3 in Hawkes Bay but I haven't seen another one for quite a few years.

Wondering where you are in NZ? We visited 10+ years ago to both N and S islands. We met up with a woman named Kiwi Sue with a SPA yellow S2000; having never met in person, she hosted us in Christchurch (this was before the earthquake) and helped us have a great visit. She is a veterinarian and I am still in touch occasionally; I think that she moved across to the N island now, but still has adult children in CC. At that time, I think that hers was the ONLY S2000 in NZ :
