What I'm saying is that I have removed my stock hood and installed my Veilside hood. There is not much in the way of weight savings. The S2000 hood is suprising light for its size. I did not, however, weigh the two. Therefore I cannot give you the exact difference.

For fun though, let's say you save 10 lbs. And we'll say you get a decent deal on a Veilside hood, shipped, prepped and painted for $700. It just cost you $70/lbs. If you dieted for 3 weeks you probably could lose 10 lbs! People buy hoods, IMO, for venting and looks.

not a significant difference between the stock hood, quality FG or CF.
The stock s2000 hood is aluminum. It is very light. People don't get new hoods for weight savings, b/c your not going to save a significant amount. A new hood is either for venting or bling-bling.
