AP1 (00-05) steering wheel + cruise control module is in 6/10 condition. No major rips, but there are some signs of wear and repair by previous owner. Fits 00-05.
AP2 airbag is in flawless condition. Fits 00-09.

"AP1" cruise control steering wheel controls lack the raised Cancel button between the two big buttons which appeared in 2004. 2003 and earlier have to press both to cancel cruise so that control is "AP2." Not sure if the wiring is different.

I apologize if I’m incorrect and certainly could be, but I thought I recalled reading on here some time ago that the AP1 and AP2 airbags were NOT interchangeable. Can anyone clarify this?

As far as I’m aware and based on personal experience, 00-05 airbags are interchangeable. I have no confirmation about 06+ working with 00-05.
I'll take a look when I get home in the morning for a part number. All I know is the steering wheel is off an AP1 and it bolted right up to my 04, the airbag is off an 04 S2000 and I sold an airbag off of my personal 04 car awhile back to someone with an AP1, and it worked out for that person.
I'm always curious what OE parts fit what cars. Personal experience is always good. The steering wheels have different part numbers (2003 suffix is A717ZA, 2004 suffix is A727ZA). Only checked those two years as they straddle the facelift and US engine change. Both the 2- and 3-button cruise switch modules show in the 2004 parts list depending on assembly factory.
