-Gauging interest for HONDATA intake manifold gasket-
#31
marcucci,
Sooo ... your saying they no longer block the coolant hole to and from the intake ?
And, since I drive through the Wisconsin winters ... I would not want to bypass the TB/IACV coolant line with a loop of fuel line?
... you gotta drive it like you just stole it !!

For those of you getting the gasket - I highly recommend it.
If you are considering installing it yourself, get a 1/4" drive 12mm swivel/socket and (2) 6" 1/4" extensions for the lower nuts/bolts.
Also, print and read Marcucci's write-up before the install. It is the Hondata gasket Bible.
Most importantly, DO NOT accidentally swap the vacuum and coolant lines on the intake (between the IACV and TB) or you will be pumping coolant into your cylinders upon startup.
Lastly, if you've been considering a Mugen or Spoon thermostat, this is the time to do it since the thermostat is readily accessible when the manifold is out.

Down here in Miami, this mod is literally a must. I've had mine for awhile but
haven't gotten around to installing it because I'm still trying to determine if the
Speed thermostat purchase is going to have me at two bars instead of three where
the F20C belongs.

Russ, not sure about the Speed, but the Mugen thermo had me dipping into the 2 bar range, infrequently, this past "winter" up here in Daytona. I found that I could "control" the temperature by how I drove, or coasted, or gear I used. I would think that although the coolant temp may dip sporadically with the Mugen thermo, the oil temp would remain in a proper range, since the oil takes longer to respond to temperature changes (specific heat?)

Update. Hondata said they will get back to me Friday. We just need a minimum of 20 paid buyers. Once that happens I will place the order. The price will most likely be $62shipped. I will start a thread over in the gb section Friday when Hondata gets back to me.
The gb will be for the street version. Hondata told me that they do not have the race version for the S2000.
