Good news. We are currently accepting payments for the Hondata gasket. The only application they have for the S2000 is the street version. Once we receive 20 paid buyers I will place the order. Hondata only has 35 gaskets available until they restock which will be between a month or two. The gaskets will be sold on a first come, first serve basis. So we might not have enough for everybody. The price is $62shipped within the US. For those who are interested in group shipping, PM me. J Sport is an authorized Hondata dealer.

Basically, the gasket lowers the intake temperature. After installing the gasket you'll notice a significant decrease in temperature on the intake pipe. The gasket is basically a copy of the oem gasket. It is a little thicker and it's made out of a different material to insulate the head and the intake manifold. There is a race version that blocks the coolant to and from the intake.

Here's an install tutorial written by Todd Marcucci a member of the board:

Taken from the Hondata's website:
"Hondata have developed a special high temperature insulating gasket which replaces the stock intake gasket. This and bypassing several heat sources significantly reduces the transfer of heat from the head to the intake and incoming air giving you up to 5% more power.

Around town, testing has shown an average drop of around 10 degrees C which is good for around 3 percent power increase. Remember though that 3 percent power increase is difficult to feel. You'd feel a greater change in performance getting rid of that passenger. In certain conditions a 30

no no.... no HP gains there will be less heat on the intake manifold. It benefits the engine by letting colder air go into the combustion chamber.
