FS: OLDSCHOOL 17" VOLK GT-U (1ST GEN) RARE JDM!***
Here's another set of super-rare Volk rims for sale. These are the discontinued version, in a very rare offset.
17" Volk GT-U Silver w/ polished lip
Front: 17x7 +45 offset
Rear: 17x8 +50 offset
center caps included
no tires
This offset WILL NOT RUB. I ran a 225/40 and 255/45 tire setup with 1 finger gap all around with no rubbing problems. I was very satisified with the aggressive look of these rims, but I need to open up some funds for other things.
Design (New and Old)
These rims are old school. Dating back to early 1990's, these rims were discontinued for the new generation GT-U's. Personally, and almost everyone agrees, these GT-U's look cleaner than the new generation. The new-gen GT-U's have a different spoke design, check the picture below. The old-gen GT-U's don't have the extra opening in the spokes, creating a more clean flow.
This is a two-piece design, where the spokes can be taken off with an allen wrench. They weigh roughly 17lbs each.
Cosmetics
No rim is in perfect condition. Due to the age of these rims, each one has minor curbage on the lip. The polished part of the lip needs to be repolished. None of the rims were repaired due to damage. "Damage" is only cosmetic!
These rims look amazing in person, even with the cosmetic flaws. Personally, I purchased these rims to get them powdercoated and re-polished to make them look like new, but I now have other priorities. If you are an enthusiast, these are the rims for you! You can get these rims fully redone for under $300 at a powdercoating specialist (I can refer you to one if you're located in so.cal).
