The license plate thing is an option. That is the diffuser that actually scrambles the signal if you do get zapped by a cop. In my opinion you dont need it because this thing is so sensitive that I have had it go off when the cops were 2-3 miles up ahead.

I am not too familiar with the V1 radar, but I have heard great things about it. Whats nice about this one is that it is all hidden and the only thing that is visible is 2 small LED's that mount near your gauge cluster. One is for the front signals and one for the rear. So even if you have it on silent mode, you can still tell which end the cops are at because the LED's light up accordingly. You also have a small remote that controls all of the settings.

Personally, after owning this radar, I dont know how I went for so long hassling with all the cheapo's that work when they want and have to mount to the windshield and all that.

Mmmm nice. My BF had heated seats in his TSX that he had last year, and it was always nice to turn them on when you had a backache!
