FS: f20c Longblock
Hey everyone-
I have my OEM f20c for sale now that I have my Laskey Racing engine installed...
Engine Story:
The engine had 83,500 miles on it when removed by an ASE Level 1 Certified Technician, which I believe it REALLY low for a MY00 that has been daily driven... I changed the oil every 4,000 miles with Mobil1 full synthetic 10w30. The car/engine had 45,000 miles on the clock when I bought it in 2004 from my local Honda dealership as a Honda Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle (it came with a 10yr/100,000 mile powertrain warranty... obviously not good anymore, but it shows that they prepped the engine to warranty standards before selling it). The engine was naturally aspirated for 80,000 miles. I installed an HP Performance turbo kit at 80,000 miles. The kit was only running 6.5 psi, which is considered UBER-safe in terms of boost on stock compression (good tunes / efficient setups have run 20+psi). As I was turbo charged, I had to tap the engine for an oil return line. I tapped the girdle on this vehicle with a 3/4" tap. If the buyer lets me know whether this will be for NA or FI application, and I can either leave the tap open, or seal it up for you before I ship it.
Before installing the turbo kit, though, I upgraded the crankcase banjo bolts to the MY02+ 4-port design (required for FI on a MY00/01 to save the cylinder walls). The additional side effect of this is that oil consumption NA is reduced.
So... For sale is a complete f20c Longblock, No accessories, No Intake Manifold, No Exhaust Manifold, no Fuel Rail, just everything from valve cover to oil pan.
I have seen the common selling price of this type setup to be $2000 + shipping... I am looking to move this quickly, so I am only asking $1800 + shipping!

Pics will be coming as soon as I can get to the engine to take photos (its at my mechanic's house).
Thanks for looking!
John
Note: This engine was not compression tested before it was pulled, but it made a healthy 331/205 on only 6.5psi, which is about right. I also had crank vents installed on the PCV and forward valve cover breather line, and I was getting crankcase vacuum (i.e. - the "pissed off chicken" noise that the oil seals make under vacuum), so everything should be good... I did not have any reason to test it...

Yup.
They make a quality product, but their customer support was horrendous on top of them sending me multiple incorrect parts (EMS included). I was a noob, so a chunk of the problem was the fact that they described it as a "10 hour" or less install, with no modifications. Modifications were needed.
PM me if you have their kit and need some pointers...
