Does that mean it will display 8k when plugged in to another car?

Will it fit in the car. Yes, all year. Will it connect to the car, NO. You have to change one of the dash wiring harness, or cut and splice the plug ends. That is why he is selling the plug end too.

Stratocaster, maybe you could answer this also...
If the OP's AP2 dash were installed in an AP1 with the correct harness or splice, how would the readings work out?
Coolant temp: would it read in the proper range, or be skewed.
Tach: Would the RPM show 9k (even though 8-9k is in red)
you sound like you've done it

Another thing, since a member asked....yes the display will show 8K, but....
1)The dealer doesnt check the display, they will know its a lie. Mileage is stored in other places in the car.
2)If you have ever had an inspection/registration updated with your real mileage, you will have problems later on selling the car, and could get in trouble for odometer fraud if you dont tell people its a new cluster. DO NOT BUY THIS CLUSTER IF YOU ARE TRYING TO LIE ABOUT YOUR MILEAGE.
