Default FS: AP1 F20c and Transmission

PRICE DROP

Name: Allan
Location: Atlanta, GA (Dallas/Hiram)
Price: $900 takes both
Contact: Call or text 678.390.zero six eight six, or PM me here.
Will ship? No. Prefer local pickup at this time.

Bought an '01 s2000 a few months ago with the intent on performing a motor swap. I purchased the car with the original F20c sounding as though it has a bad rod bearing. It WILL likely need to be rebuilt, but would make an excellent project motor. See comments below. Both of the below are located North of Atlanta (Dallas/Hiram). Removed from the car and ready for you to pick up.

AP1 F20c (Needs Rebuild) - Removed from a 2001 with roughly 114,000 miles. Does not include harness or exhaust manifold. Will need a rebuild. Did run when removed from vehicle. See video here: YouTube Video of F20c Before Removal

AP1 6 Speed Transmission - Removed from above vehicle. Shifts fine, although due to above motor issue I was never able to drive vehicle.

Thanks! I believe the rod bearings have gone bad. I posted a video of the motor running before I removed it in case someone wanted to see (see top post). The knock was definitely coming from the block and not the head.

I removed it a few weeks ago and cleaned it up. Should make a great project motor for someone.

Not sure if I would be willing to ship at this point. Would prefer local Atlanta pickup. I'll let you know if this changes.

do you think a good rotating assembly would fix this longblock i.e. crank and bearings?

Hi,

I see/hear no reason why it wouldn't. Original owner had it towed to his mechanic once the problem surfaced. I only cranked it two short times after that... once when I was looking at the car and once for the YouTube video (see first post).

That said, I have NOT disassembled the motor to confirm. When I bought the car, I was not interested in the issues with the motor. I purchased with performing a motor swap in mind from the beginning. I only wanted the chassis.
