this is a good idea, but to be hones i would prefer you copy the mugen. u can use a mugen non carbon for mold, their design is much sexier.

I will be intersted but I have couple of questions.

1) Is there going to be in inner lining like the OEM hardtop?

2) Will OEM stock latchs be used for the inside of the hardtop to secure it to the car?
3) Will a rubber mold around the edges be used like the OEM hardtop to seal the rain etc away from the interior?
4)If you make a fiberglass version instead of a CF hardtop, will cost be minimized? If so I want a fiberglass version instead of a CF version.

Good luck! I was going to do this but the cost on getting the latches made up is going to put you in the poor house on such a small run. The mold won't be the expense. If you decide on letting people get the attachments from Honda or Hardtopguy they are looking at another added expense of around $500. Shipping per hardtop is going to cost you $300 within the USA. Now getting the proper box for shipping is going to cost you an arm and a leg. It's not like that's a standard size and no one is going to build you a box for a run of 100. If you go and decide to use wood crates, the cost of shipping has just now increased and now you are looking to design or manufacture the wood crates on your own. Add on top of that the padding you are going to need when you ship these bad boys and boom, you are pretty much in over your head. These are all things you need to consider.

btw rarity not rareity. A mold shouldn't cost more then $2000 or so, I was quoted that price by one of the top CF guys in the east coast. He makes stuff for many full fledge race teams.
