ive heard "tein" pronounced as "tane or tain"(however you wanna spell it to say it),.......Tean/teen, or T-yen......
its wierd just like the common last name of "NGUYEN".....is pronounced "when" AND "New in".........i am 100% white boy and i work in a place with a high amount of asian population so i get it alot that both ways it is pronounced but spelled the same

Based on the company names in Japanese katakana,

Tein = "tain", no particular meaning, probably an acronym of some kind.
Bride = "Brid", no particular meaning unless they were intending for the english word bride
5Zigen = "go gee(ji) gen", which means 5th dimension

And to add,

Mugen = "moo gen" with the oo not stretched out as much (think 1.5 o's instead of 2), and not "miu-gen" or "miu-jen" as I've heard. It means limitless, or unlimited

Why would you call it Brid? Even the company spells it Bride.
because that's how it's pronounced

just because something can be spelled in english doesn't mean it should necessarily be pronounced according to english rules/grammar, whatever you want to call it. It's usually best to pronounce it as it was meant to be pronounced in the original language.

Ie. Le Mans
Not "luh manz"....should be "luh mah"

Of course on the other side of the spectrum, there are words that have been mispronounced for so long, that it seems ok.

ie. Mexico & Los Angeles.
should be 'mehico' and 'los anheles' but hardly (besides fluent spanish speakers) pronounce them that way!

tein = technical innovation so, "teh-in"

i can't believe people still call mugen "myoo-gihn". it's "moo" not "myoo"!

Agree with Chris Lum, now more fuel to the fire...

Porsche. That's a family name and I'd be pissed if people mispronounced my name.

wow learning alot in this thread. Its good to know the real pronunciations of those companies but since im in a country where most people pronounce it the way they spell it, ill quick wit calling it the way they know how, so as too avoid any explanation whatsoever.

On the other hand, ill use the correct pronunciation when talking to someone knowledgeable about it, or if im simply bored and just want the small talk. Haha
