Default Relocating T1R battery to the trunk

Hey guys, I have a T1R battery and was thinking to relocate it to the spare tire compartment. Can it be mounted horizontal or does the battery have to remain upright?

the thick cable needed and length needed + new securing mount, defeats the whole purpose of you doing this.

Locating a heavy battery sure, but you'll add all the weight savings of a T1R battery right back by relocating to trunk. Also trunk is not ideal spot either. Weight added in ends of vehicle makes rotatating the car worse. The reason the battery is where it is, it's to offset the driver's weight to achieve 50/50 balance.

but since ur thinking about adding to the spare tire area, that might be fine since it's middle of the car You can mount it horizontally. It's a sealed battery.

On top of what Dave said, I would really stick with an OEM or Diehard All Weather battery for day to day driving. I had a couple of these small batteries over the years and they are good for shows and an occasional track day, thats it. They drain quite fast IMO, so not worth running.

Well the securing mount doesn't weigh much, for sure its the cable thats going to add the most weight. The main reason I want to relocate it is because my Spoon hood has this huge vent right over the battery terminal, exposing it to the public.
I figured the spare tire compartment is the center of the car and hopefully wouldn't effect much weight distribution, opposed to mounting the battery in the trunk.
So since the battery is sealed, it can be mounted horizontally, thanks.

why not just add some type of grill over the vent??

just a suggestion, i have no idea if that would help.
