MY00 ECU+Apexi Vs. MY03+Apexi

I also tested the performance yesterday.
02-03 had definately more ignition timing, leaner in high-end.
Power gain? Well butt dyno says max 5whp, but feels easier to drive. good improvement over the stock.

were everyone's results with an 01 ECU and VAFC tune vs. an 02-03 ECU with VAFC retuned?
Just wondering if I should consider getting one as well, then get my vafc retuned.

Its a gamble but not that expensive of one.
I really like those wheels on your spa, what are they?

just get the MY03 ECU and an apexi VAFC2 on top of it
If you want the VAFC to work right and not have to reset your ECU constantly than you will set-up the VAFC2 for WOT only, you will see great gains even with the 03 ECU. but when the vafc isnt making corrections anything other than WOT the MY03 ecu will give you more midrange than the 01 ecu.
OR you can just keep your stock ecu, and get a piggy back like the greddy emanage, with the money you save getting the 03 ecu and vafc it will be a little more but well worth it. get the greddy professionally tuned and you will pick up a BUNCH of power.

thanks guys for the input, really appreciate it
Blownap..i already bought an afc neo with the harness but havent got the time to install it yet, so no choice for me to think of the emanage, enough wasting money
but i think of it this way, you can set the AFR+ timming in the e manage
so its almost like an 03 ecu (supposed to have better timing) plus afc (set the fuel)
cheaper combo to get the result of the e manage ( my conclusion..not 100% sure)
I still dont know for fact if the 03 has advanced timing or not, but as everyone has felt better after swapping so im guessing honda did manage to do some changes other than leaner fuel.
I think ill start searching for an 03 ecu from now .

I have had my 03 tuned with a VAFCII I had the curve leaned out to 13.5-13.7 : 1 on WOT. I did see great gains,
Here is the the Dyno of my Stock car, vs just the VAFC, you can see I picked up GREAT gains before peak power and whats most impressive is after 8200 rpm (peak power) I gained upwards of 14WHP.
p.s in the dyno you can see that there is a Dip in power on the blue line, that was later smoothed out with further tuning.
a VAFCII or Neo are great bang for the buck, BUT with the emanage you will be able to adjust timing and more even more power than this, and be alot SAFER.
the VAFC/NEO lean out your car to make power, "lean n Mean" is what your car will run, but there are safer ways to make power.

What gains can be made with VAFC2 compared to emanage? What gains can I see if I get tuned by a pro tuner (Shawn Church) with my single exhaust, header and CAI? Thats my setup.

Guessing up to 15 with VAFC, maybe 25 with emanage.
On Shawn's dyno maybe 1000 hp with either.
