Default JDM BBS Wheels and the Spoon Calipers

I found this picture on the Forum somewhere and this is the route I want to go with my car. The unsprung-weight savings are amazing, almost 14kg over all!

Can someone tell me what size of spacer I would need for this wheel to fit the spoon caliper?

Don't quote me on this, but when I was over at a friends house (who is also a s2ki member) he installed Spoon calipers but needed to borrow my 25mm hubcentric spacers in order to clear the OEM 16" wheels! I am not sure about the clearance needed for the JDM BBS wheels though.

that picture is a streight up photoshop.

oem rims need a 25mm spacer to clear spoon calipers. have fun with that though, because youl need extended studs and most likely rolled front fenders or after market ones.

anyway, spoon calipers arn't too big. if you do the math you can pick out a nice set of rims that will clear them with a +45 offset.

All information above is wrong.

You need exactly +15mm spacers to clear the Spoon calipers for the above JDM BBS forged wheels. I used to run this setup, nothing more nothing less.

Beat me to the punch. If you look at SPOON Japan and look through the catalogue you can see that in the BBK section there is a "15" in there and I would assume that is the needed spacer. See the GD7 "5"?

So I would need longer studs as well?

Correct You will need longer studs and a pair of 15mm spacers.

Check H&R for your required hardware gear, they sell everything in a set for one pair of wheels generally. The kit comes with the following;

2 x required MM spacers - Forged magnesium.
High tensile hardend bolts - To match your bolt pattern and bolt type.

H&R sells plenty of this, just quote your make/model/year for an accurate product. And never use a torque gun on the bolts/lugs, always hand torque them to the required Nm with a torque wrench.
