great write up. i did mine on a lift...took me and another guy about 7 hours total (only thing we removed was the rear plastic tray). I also opted to not cut my carpet and drill through it, but be careful as mine nearly caught on fire. Here are a few tips from my experience:
1. Use titanium drill bits.
2. If you miss drill (the bit slipped a few times), and the hole doesn't line up, don't worry about it just re-drill.
3. An extra hand really helps.
