Cooling plate or Spoon Snorkel?

True but I seriously think adding a vented hood to the mix will improve the cooling factor in the engine bay.
Of course a better way of knowing is the addition of oil and water temp gauges.

i will have oil and temp gauges.. digital actually.. i will try to see if i can come up with some hard, scientific data of whether or not a cooling plate will help..
i can drive the car along the same route, with and without a cooling plate, same day, similar temps and see if that helps.. then i can also add a oil cooling kit or a vented hood and see what helps and how much...
and i should get a life too haha

In the Prelude community, the radiator shroud/cooling plates help a lot with decreasing turbulence for Carbon Fiber hoods. I don't know if that would necessarily translate into helping S2Ks though... Without the shroud, Prelude people would complain that at higher speeds (80-90mph) their CF hoods would shake, which is obviously not good! After throwing the shroud on, the turbulence is decreased and reports even say that hoodpins aren't even necessary. I always thought that was cool and interesting.

It sounds like a fun project to do a study on. (Actually it reminds me of how in-depth Sport Compact Car magazine would get to prove this theory.) I'm subscribed to this thread now as I'd like to know the verdict too.
Good stuff.
