Default Amuse R1

Calling all R1 single owners. I am interested in hearing your opinion on this exhaust. How loud is it and how does it sound. Does it drone at all? Any experiences will be appreciated. Also anyone with R1 dual or R1000 or R1 header is welcome. Thanks

I have the R1000. Its LOUD, I have to use ear plugs when I go on extended trips on the highway. There really isn't much drone per-say, just is very loud. I have a silencer for it, just too lazy to try it out at the moment.

I've had the R1 dual and also the Euro R single on my S. I found both to be quiet enough to enjoy the (weak) stereo.

The R1000 is very very loud judging from my customer's cars. The R1 single isnt as loud as the R1000 but is still quite loud.

The nice thing for you is that Bulletproof has one of every type in stock (well, actually the R1000 is on a container now and incoming, but everything else is here).

Pfds2k, I just recently installed the Amuse headers, purchased with pride from Bulletproof. I don't have their exhaust installed, but just headers, and if anything, the manifold actually made the exhaust note sound a bit smoother in the low range. Its hard to tell if it added to the loudness factor on full acceleration due to the intake noise from the AEM cold-air unit installed. But the header is definitely the nicest quality piece I've seen since Mugen!

I definitely have another all-time manufacturer favorite and its got "Powerhouse Amuse" written all over it!

Ben, awesome part for an upgrade! By the way, I've seen your photo in Modified Mag under the column "the Real JDM". (yeah I know its old news by now) Just a small world we live in thats all. Take care.

OK, I have tested with the silencer. On the highway it is as quiet as stock, when you get on it, there is a bit of noise in the cabin. But otherwise, the R1000 is VERY bearable with the silencer in.

Wow that is awesome! I didn't even know you could get a silencer with the r1000. Is that special order? Does it feel like it drives any different? (slower throttle response, less power) Thanks for all the input guys, keep it coming!

Yup, I'm such an Amuse fan, I dug up their old website a long time ago before they started taking it down. I found the application for the silencer there. I talked to Tommy (i don't wait... here on the forums) and I ordered the silencer along with the exhaust. From what I have been seeing, this is a special order item as the muffler tip has to be drilled to fit the silencer. Mine came with both holes drilled (accross from eachother 3 and 9 oclock positions on the tip), allen wrench, and screws.

As far as throttle response, it is down a little bit, still better than stock. Power is probably down, but not too bad. Barely noticeable. I usually don't get on it with the silencer in.
