Default Wheel setup...

As everyone knows, I am currently running the stock AP2 setup.(AP2V1) I love the way the car feels & handles with the stock setup. (I am running 45's on the St. Augustine track.) However, I really want new wheels and I desperately want the ASM rear over fenders.

I am currently looking at these wheels; http://www.wheeldude.com/catalog/pro...oducts_id=6804 (I don't want to hear about how cheap they are, Jim.)
The offsets are throwing me off though. I just want a wheel I can run with the ASM rear over fenders without taking away from my feel/handling.

Any suggestions?

I don't get what you're asking. Im running x9 +40 with 255/40 on stock rear fenders. I wouldn't hack up my car to put on over fenders but thats just IMO.

By the way. The wheels you have in this link will fit without the fenders. If you want to push them out you will need large spacers. The fenders are for folks the want to run wider wheels and tires or wheels with offsets that don't fit under the stock wells.

Like I said, I'm just a little nervous about the offsets/sizes of those wheels I'm looking at.

I've never really owned a pair of non-oem wheels, so I know little to NOTHING about wheel setup.

My biggest fear is taking away from how the car handles currently.

I run a 17x8 and 17x9 +45 225/255 all the way around. Had to only roll the rears. If you want over fenders and for them to sit flush in the rear you will want +38.

I may not want to run over fenders 100%, I really want them but every time someone brings up the realization of having to actually cut my fenders I piss myself a little.

you are going to have to cut. no way round it. The question is do you want these for looks or is it to improve grip? If you don't want to cut there are wheels and tires that can fit and provide grip. DO you know how much clearance these fenders give you?

What size tires are you running in the front? If you go wider in the rear you are going to want to beef up the front some or you most likely will suffer from more under steer.

i looked up the fenders. they give you 25mm which is an inch. so that means if you ran a 10x17 you should be ok with 32 offset. if 9x17 you should be ok with 20 offset.
if you happen to find a wheel you like that's 9x17 and 31 offset you can a spacer to push it out a bit.
or..... find some wheels that fit and get some real good rubber.
