The Fleming Island theater is my favorite in Jacksonville, never crowded and the best image quality due to DLP projectors. There is not a theater in Jacksonville that is similar to the Cinebistro at Dolphin Mall unfortunately (as far as I know) if that is what you were looking for.

Yes, I saw Star Trek there back in May I believe. Luckily the movie tickets were free and I loved being able to order drinks and desert to take into the theater with you.

I would gladly go to a theater like that here in Jacksonville.

Welcome. I dont go to too many meets but every now and then i show up at a tuesday meet.
I live downtown so the restaurants are all close to me. downtown=northside of the river, san marco=southside of the river (this is different from "southside" jax), riverside/avondale=northside of the river, mile or so southwest of downtown.

The beaches are cool too but that's out of my jurisdiction. "Southside" is where all the chain restaurants and movie theaters are. everything else i consider the "west side", though most of these guys seem are from orange park and mandarin, and would likely be horribly opposed to me lumping them in with the westside.

The best restaurants we have:
Not too cheap (relatively fancy dinner and/or where i take clients for lunch):
Chew - downtown
B.B.'s - san marco
The Brick - riverside/avondale
Biscotti's - riverside/avondale
Bistro AIX (say "bistro x") martini bar inside as well - san marco
Ruth's Chris - downtown and at the beaches
Matthew's - san marco
Orsay's - riverside
13 gypsies - riverside
Wine Cellar - san marco (tons of wine but the food's not so good)
The Row - riverside

Not too expensive (where we grab a beer after work or go for lunch on our own):
O'brother's irish pub - riverside
Cool Moose Cafe- riverside
European street cafe - riverside, san marco, and others
Kickbacks - riverside
Burrito Gallery - downtown
Jenkins BBQ - downtown (seems sketchy/ghetto but you're fine)
There's a relatively new wine bar caddy-corner-ish to kickbacks but i forget the name
Big Pete's - downtown
CasaDora - downtown, and a new cool bar accross the street that i forget the name of

Track days - Roebling Road Raceway is only about 1.5 - 2 hours north, tons of DE's, test and tunes, sanctioned amateur races. i go as often as i can, usually once every couple of months. CMP is about 6-7 hours north, Sebring is about 5 hours southwest, RA is about 5 hours north. I go to these much less often.

Ghetto - is a few exits north of downtown on I-95--you'll be able to tell and possibly some on the westside but i just never have any reason to go over there.

Ranges - Bullseye gun and pawn has an indoor range and is the only one i've been to but i think there's one more (on beach somewhere??). no a/c so it can suck in the summertime. there is a relatively new outdoor range in st. augustine but i have not been there.

scenic/photographic - downtown at night looks cool, but nothing like downtown miami. Heckshire Drive is a cool scenic drive. it goes along the intercoastal/marshes and the ocean, maybe 20 or 30 miles if you take it all the way past amelia island.

I made it. All is well except for the crappy weather. Today should be better.
For dinner I went to the town center open air mall 2 nights in a row. I like it!
I saw a stock ap2 ss there. This is the only one I've seen so far. I need to get out more.

Go away rain.
