Default Clutch opinions from the locals

Hey all,

Just wondering if any of you have changed your clutches and would recommend whatever brand you used. Or maybe you bought a clutch and it turned out to suck--that would be good info too. I've searched the main forum but wanted to hear from the locals. I'm about to go with the Spec stage 1 (stock engine) but welcome opinions. thanks in advance.

Recently changed to the SOS sport clutch and lightweight flywheel. Feels good and grabs well.

I wouldn't reccomend a lightweight flywheel. I think mine is a bit too light at 11.5 lbs. Should have just replaced the ap2 with a 14 lb ap1 flywheel.

I love my comptech lightweight flywheel (around 8-9 lbs.). They let the motor rev freely, I don't know how you ap2 guys can stand your ridiculously heavy flywheel with cdv.

I am currently running it with an act hdpp and street disc. It holds pretty well even at 390whp, but my last one only lasted about 20k. I hate slipping clutches so I replaced it when it started to slip. It still had a little life left on it. My next setup is going to be a competition clutch carbon/kevlar clutch with their lightweight flywheel. I would like to reuse the comptech flywheel again but I have resurfaced it twice already and I think a third would be pushing it.

Had the ACT HDPP with oem disc installed earlier this year. Felt great at first. now not sure about the clutch disc. grabs well but a lil chatter when slipping it in traffic. As for a dealer, can't recommend anyone since I had thee worst experience with my install through a mechanic.
