You guys telling him to keep the 335i have got to be kidding? Every single BMW from 20 yrs ago until now looks EXACTLY the same inside, and they are always broken, not to mention they are EVERYWHERE. My G/F has a 335 and it is no where near as exciting to drive as my S. Granted the S used to seem faster but nowadays every car is built 300hp out of the box, but do what I did, buy a Turbo for $4,000.00 and with some good driving you'll be right there with the brand new M3's.......and blowing the 335i's away

There is no other greater feeling when I take an on ramp at 40mph faster then anyone else with the top down and Vtec Screaming, and the gearbox...c'mon, the S is a Drives car the 335i is a car for a CPA

The Brand new $70,000 M3, which is no doubt pretty on the outside (not too pretty inside) runs the 1/4 mile in 12.5, (Road & Track), just throw a Turbo on the S2000 and some great driving you will run that, I have seen 12.2 with some 330WHP S2000's......

And just think of the look on the BMW drivers face when your $30,000.00 $ banger beats em, that alone would be worth it
dont you have a 335i now? theres a guy with your same screen name at e90post

if you bought either car to drive fast in the straights you probalby bought the wrong car.

that said, the 335i will be faster. full torque at ~1.5k rpm is a huge deal.

u buy an s2k for a lightweight 2 door top down (or coupe) experience.

it's totally different. if you are shopping for one over the other a simple test drive will make it abundantly clear what you need.

what i do is... cant make up your mind? save up some more and buy both.

You're confusing him with JoeyBabs. The said user has a 135i.

FWIW, an brand new base M3 is $55,000. Not 70k. Why not get a normal 3 if you're gonna load it up with all kinds of shit anyway?

oh no, its the same exact screen name, jw if it was the same person.
I used to have a 03 s2k until I traded it for a 335i, I had the s2k for about 3 years and it was a fun car. Im back to maybe pick up a used s2k as my weekend/project car.

Being a big sports car forum this site is, it surprises me to see quite a few members under estimating the 335i here. Trust me the 335i is not a car you want to under estimate, there are a few 335/135 running high 11's already for no more $3k worth of mods.

also, goodluck finding a base M3 at any dealership

I own an S2000 and a 335. 335 hands down for just about everything, except those times when i really need my fix.

There is A HUGE DIFFERENCE between 153lb/ft @8300 and 300lb/ft @1300 rpm. HUGE!

Turbo this NOS that...I wanna see how much money you're going to have to put into an S2000 to keep up with a chipped 335. If you think a regular greddy kit is going to do that...**** no.

Don't get me wrong, I love my S2000, but the 335 is so much more of a car you cannot even compare the two.

I have not driven a 335 yet but I have driven countless BMW's, and nothing really compares. Nothing beats feeling and hearing VTEC scream as you row through the gears. The best word I can use to describe it is raw. I have never had a second thought about my purchase, I figure you can get a luxury car when you get to an age where driving an S hurts your back.
The new 335I is a beast though, it out runs the old M3. You're gonna miss your straight line speed but the corners won't be TOO MUCH different than your 335, maybe flatter entry, faster exit. So it will feel faster, but in reality not really.

If you piece your kit together correctly, you can easily beat C6's and even z06s if you get to the 450-500 range.

The look on the C6 driver's face was worth every penny that I spent on my setup after I walked him on the highway.
I want pics of your car right now!!!! lol

It depends. If you can live with the S2000 knowing upfront that it's an impractical car then go with it but IMO the 335i is a better (practical) car to own with more power and the luxuries you won't find in the S2k. PM user derrick for an opinion. He made the switch from 335i to S2k.
