Default Trading my 335i for an 08 S2k

Hi everyone,

I just put my deposit on an 08 Chicane S2k tonight and worked the numbers to trade my 335 in, got a decent deal imo. So what do you think? I am having slight second thoughts because of what a total package the 335 is...Speed/luxury/quality..etc. But I do LOVE the S2k...

I have an 07 Fit Sport that I use as my DD, and have no kids..so I can get away with an S2k for a while.

What do you think?

I took the S2k out for a little drive..and sorry but I just don't like it with the top up. It doesn't sound good, can barely hear the vtec switch, yuck!! Top down..different story. Problem will be waiting these 2 months for spring to drop the top..i might really regret ditching the 335 until then.

O yeah..the CDV blows!! Is there someone in NJ who could help me take it out? Any good Honda shops that could do this?

I have not driven a 335 yet but I have driven countless BMW's, and nothing really compares. Nothing beats feeling and hearing VTEC scream as you row through the gears. The best word I can use to describe it is raw. I have never had a second thought about my purchase, I figure you can get a luxury car when you get to an age where driving an S hurts your back.

If your 335 is a coupe, stick with it. It has the whole package.

Your really going to miss the power the 335 has, the s2k is going to feel so slow. And theres not much you can do short of $4000 that will drastically affect the performance. Its definately a much more fun car though, top down, excellent handling, sexier looks. Just dont expect that push you into your seat feeling you had with the 335.

Test drive it a few more times if possible. Then make decision. You lose a lot of small things (power obviously is a big compromise), and only gain a few big things. You lose power, luxury, comfort, electro gizmos, and spacing. You gain fun factor, perfect gearbox (to me anyway and i've driven lots of manual cars), and um...rawness of connection bewteen you can the car.

I don't miss any of the things you will comrpomise. We also have an Rdx with tech package (navi, bluetooth, backup camera, dolbyII sound system) in the family and i've daily driven it all winter so I know what is given up between the cars.

good luck
