Thinking of getting a 09 S2000
Hello guys,
I am glad i stumble upon this forum while doing a little research on S2000. What a community!
Anyhow, I am thinking of getting a 2009 S2000 since this will be the last year for this model and I have always love the S2000, but I don't know how the 09 version stacking up with the previous years'? Anyone knows a good comparision/review of the 09 please educate me.
Also If I were to buy a 2009 S2000, should I wait until the end of the year because it'd be cheaper then?
I was looking at a few 08 S2000 too. The 08 version is about $4-$6k cheaper than the 09 version. How's the 08 version?
Thanks guys.

You can't go wrong with either an 08 or 09. Aside from some minor changes, MY06-09 are nearly identical. I would not wait too long on buying a new 09...supplies are starting to dwindle. We've already heard some reports of dealers being firm on 09 prices when just a couple months ago dealers were practically begging buyers to drive off in one.

Agree X2. No shame in buying used. You'll save thousands of dollars. But if the gap isn't too great, maybe buying new would be the better option since the car wouldn't have been molested.

what are the differences from the 04-05 and the 06-09 ap2s?
04-05:

08-09 also had the red stitching on the seats except for the CR's and no more windsheild tape
Also different OEM wheels and the calipers are painted silver from factory

You will find alot of opinions on price on the new cars- some say they can get real steals well below invoice. I did not find that to be true at least in Philly area on non CR. Yes you can always wait until you are the last man standing and get a great deal but life is short and summer is here and it is time to drive!
I find the car raw and very focused. Its lack of power does not matter when you put the whole package together. The sound of the engine at 7k rpm is worth every bit of the price.
The other cars I considered were Cayman S and Lotus Exige.
Cayman was incredible car but not raw enough for me if you get what I am saying. The Exige was simply the most incredible car I have driven from an experience and involment and acceleration point of view. But I could not live with it on a daily basis. I think the s2k is the best in between those two. Again- I could not be more happy with the car.
Good luck.

Can someone link to me the changes from the 08 CR to the 09 CR? Are they just identical (not even minor changes)? I am definitely getting the CR and it seems that a new leftover 08 CRs are just bit cheaper than the 09 CRs.
