Thanks y'all for the advice and pointers. I'm still looking...
Amazing the number of sellers that don't want you to drive the car. What sort of buyer would lay down money without having driven the car first??
If anyone knows of any other good online sources of used UK S2K's please let me know. I'm looking for a blue GT, 2002 or 2003.

To me, 66K miles on an '02 is pretty low. that works out to maybe 12K-15K miles per year? (depending on when it was bought)
About the pre-purchase inspection..how would one go about taking a used s2k to your trusted mechanic for an inspection? Would you ask the dealer/private seller if you could test-drive it to your mechanic (possibly 20 mi away?) How 'bout letting the dealership you're getting it from do the inspection/comp test? Not exactly a 3rd party inspection but..i dunno.

cableclutch,
regarding mileage... Most S2000 owners are not daily drivers in the S. While 15K miles/annum might be an average amount for a normal sedan, I'd say it's on the high side for an S2000. This is just my impression, so don't take it as gospel.
Yes, ask the private seller to allow you gto get the car checked out. If the seller refuses, well, ask him what would be acceptable, and decide whether you want to go through with him as a seller. I think it's totally reasonable to ask someone to let you get a car checked out for a 10K+ purchase. If he wants to attend and be there, that'd be a good sign (IMO).
