Default Things to look for at the dealer?

Well, after almost 2 years of looking, setbacks, and other obstacles, I should finally be getting into an S by the end of next week. I'm headed to the dealers, gonna do a dealer trade. I found two that I'm interested in. They both happen to be Spa yellow too . . . and I was lookin for Berlina for the longest time, but I like the Spa too, the first S I ever saw years ago was Spa . . . anyways, what are some things I should look for at the dealer, and during the test drive? What specific questions should I ask . . .

One is an 01, the other is an 02, w/ 69k and 66k respectively . . . the carfax's are clean, but are there things i should look for as far as tranny maintenance, the diff, engine, etc?

Thanks for the help, and can't wait to finally get it!

How much are they asking? That's a lot of miles for an S...at least compared to the majority that are for sale. I'd go with the MY02...just cause of the upgrades. If you want berlina though, go with berlina. Trust me, you will regret it.

the MY02 has a little over 66k on it, and they're asking 14,900, but i'm hopin to talk them down and get a decent amount for my trade

mmmm SPA, great color . But in all seriousness, go with the color you REALLY want.

As far as service history goes, no real way to tell. Just hope they have good records, and change all the fluids after buying. Just listen for unusual noises (no different from any other car). 66K and 69K aren't too bad for mileage, after all they are Hondas.

J-rod,

Please look through the introductions forum FAQ thread to find the car inspection list. There are many things to look at, and information is your friend.

Welcome, and good luck.
