It won't take long if he gets the S for the diff to give out and we won't have to worry about looking bad. J/K! Get the Z4! my $.02

wow, this is definetly not the most welcoming community. i did mention i dont want to do donuts or go full out drifting (drifting must be like the devil round here).

some of the car reviews ive read on the s2k mentioned that it was very enjoyable how the s2k progressively pushed its tail out and was very safe it you were not stupid and trying top get it sideways (very different from stepping the tail out a little).

less of this

more like this (with NO PEDESTRIANS in my case, lest anyone get offended)
note the lack of tire smoking

is the z4 better at things like that. it does have more torque but ive heard the rear grip is really high, requiring tire smoking to get it to step out.

at these low speeds does the s2k feel like its bogging due to the lack of torque, what gear and speeds do you need to be in to do that.

It's not that we are not a welcoming community. Most of us take very good care of the S2000. We take the car to the tracks to do the ripping and tearing on the car where its legal not on public streets. If you do get one get with your local community and I'm sure they can point you in the right direction of where the tracks are so you can do the drifting and things of that nature at the track. Please don't do it on public streets whether its a new neighborhood or not its still a public street.

Um... How often do people who find themselves in an accident end up doing so because they were looking to get into an accident?

They are quite different cars. Especially the ap1 vs z4, the z4 has a softer ride that has a suspension focused on comfort, where as the s2k has a stiff and jarring ride. The z4 3.0 is torquey but it dies in the upper rev range. I drove one during the BMW ultimate drive event earlier this year and besides the fact that they were both roadsters, the feeling between the two cars are night and day.
Go test drive each one and you will know what I'm talking about. GL with your search.

k24accord, im not trying to make anyone look like an asshole, you and some others here are being assholes. all i did was ask some questions (thanks to those who answered), i dont think asking questions makes anyone look like an asshole, maybe your just too sensitive. and dont get condesending and tell me to grow up, i would not be the first to slide a s2000.

almost everyone here is saying that makes them look bad, i have a question, in front of who would you look bad? is there some group of people only targeting s2000's?! and they would only scrutinise s2000s and not all sports cars if they saw one sliding? where are these people?

im not going to drift this car, all ive said so far is provoke oversteer, and even if i was to drift any car i wouldnt try to do that until i was very familiar with it. get over yourself, an s2k is a great car, and anyone can learn to drive it, not only you.

takeshi, i know the definition of an accident, maybe you should learn to read between the lines to polish up your english. by saying im not looking to have an accident, any person with half a brain would know that i mean i would cautiously learn the limits of the car.

i dont have a torque fetish, im not trying to do burnouts. provoking oversteer doesnt require tons of torque, but hey you own an s2000, you would know.

and the area i speaking of is very safe, completely deserted after 5pm. nobody at all to have any "disregard for on the road". if you must know, i live nowhere near you. its in qatar, no tracks around here, i know the area very well, and there is no shortage of drivers here doing stunts even on the main roads in traffic, so im very responsible considering what everyone does over here.

once again thanks to the guys who gave me their thoughts on the s2ks handling.

i see why you would promote responsible driving in the forums, and im sure there are many teens and young kids who get a car like an s2k then crash, and you have to be firm with those people, i understood that and took some badgering, but dont get condasending and start accusing me of being an asshole cuz i said i didnt feel welcome.

wow, it seems even the people who designed the s2k mean for it to slide....

Ooh, the way the rear is sliding... That's what rear wheel drive is all about!"

https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showt...0&#entry9393204

"This video has been posted before, but many of the newer owners probably haven't seen it yet.

If you want to know how Honda tested the original AP1 suspension, and how they intended the original car to be driven, watch the video."

so why are all these people here telling me that the s2000 is for "real drivers" and a "real sports car" and not for immature things like sliding
