most insurance companies i checked with classify the s2k as "high," meaning that repair costs are high and rate of theft/damage is high...it's therefore an expensive car to insure to compared to most other cars.

Call before you buy- but I just called about my renewal, my insurance is $1500 for the next year for the TSX and the S2000.

Look at a Civic Si for high insurance rates.

How did that work out. My 96 240 is worlds lower in insurance than my s2000. I pay 197 a month for both of them. I am 22/unmarried with only one violation on my record. Did you have your engine and mods listed in your insurance or something because I am at a loss.

Actually, the "S" was cheap for the first year, then they socked me with rate increases - with no tickets or accidents either:

I was looking into the Solstice Mallet. It wouldn't cost any more than my S to insure.

Thats what I like to hear. I am thinking about getting rid of my FD for an S2K and was figuring insurance would be more..

Oddly enough, insurance on my '99 Miata I had before my '94 RX-7 was more expensive than the FD...
