Default Recommendations for an S2K Daily Driver

Hello !

I'm going to purchase and S2K as a daily driver. It is an upgrade (some of bike guys are telling me its a downgrade) from the motorcycles I ride to work everyday and back (except when raining) here in Southern California.

I'm looking for your feedback on what the better scenario might be from a realiabilty versus cost standpoint.

I commute 20 miles each way. . that's 40 miles a day. . .or 200 miles a week (and works out to about 10K miles a year).

Plus other weekend or after work driving. . . I typically rack up at least 13-14K miles a year.

That said. . what are your thoughts on the best daily driver S2K for me . . noting that I am only open for an AP2.

Would it be something like a 2004/2005 with 80,000-90,000 miles for $11-13K

or a

2006 with 20K miles for $19,500 ?

or something in between. . .

I'm trying to justify depreciation versus cost etc. . . .

I'm thinking I'd keep the thing for 6 to 9 years.

Depreciation shouldn't be a concern if you're intending to keep it for 6-9 years. And if you're planning on putting on some miles you'd be better off in general with a lower mileage car.

The 2006 is hardly broken in. Stick with lower miles.

Definately lower miles. Mine is a 2000 with only 57K. I definately plan on racking up the miles. Its a piece of mind, but if its been taken care of it should last you a while . Thank god for Honda's engineering.

since your coming from a bike and you want a ap2 id say go with 04-05 lower millage one, becuase they dont have all that safety mumbo in there and no DBW. quicker response FTW!!
