Question on Rear Defrost Option
I was wondering if there was a big difference in having rear defrosters in the soft top? I am going to buy an S2000 tomorrow and I have an option over an 02 or 01. I am leaning towards the 01 because it has only 21,000 miles on it and the price is currently at 19,995 which I plan on haggling down a thousand or so. The only thing that Im concerned about is the rear defrosters. I know the rear defrosters option was put in the 02+, thats why at first I wanted an 02. Then again I can save a few thousands and get lower miles on the car by buying the 01. Now heres the question, does the rear defrosters really make that big of a difference? Should I get the 02 rather than the 01 just for that purpose?

This kinda depends on where you live. You may not really need a rear defroster. On the other hand, a plastic window may not by your thing either. A lot of owners of plastic windows never looked after it and you may not be able to see squat out the back and will have to spend some time to get it polished up and protected.
Of course, if you really need a rear defroster, you might be able to save enough buying an '01 to buy a hardtop for it.
On the other other hand, the glass rear window is much smaller and your field of view out the back will be much smaller. It's up to you.

Get the price down on the '01 and bank the money you saved. If you later decide you would like glass in the back, do the conversion.

I like the glass window, but have never had to live without it.
