Default Purchasing an '06 Leftover

A local dealership has a (relatively) large inventory of S2000's for this time of year. 3 2006's and 3 2007's.

Out of the 6 closest dealerships to me this one has the largest inventory by far. (The remaining 5 stores have 7 combined and only one of which is an '06)

My point is that I'm thinking they would be very interested in moving some old inventory from their lot.

I requested an online quote and they offered $30,1xx plus $595 destination and $100 processing (bs fee), taxes, tags, etc.

I am thinking of countering with $28,100 or maybe $30,000 out the door (destination, processing, taxes, tags, etc.)

Anyone else have an opinion? I'd like to hear it.

Thanks in advance.

Your offer is very fair. I talked mine to $29,492 MSRP in May of 2006. It was around $36k out the door after I got conned into getting zaino and a bunch of other dealer crap though.

They are also running a 0% APR special at this dealer which is very attractive.

If you can buy a leftover 06 for $28k plus TTL, take it and run.

I'll give it a shot.

I'm sure the fact that they still have 3 '06's just wasting away taking up space on the lot will help me out considerably.

I also found another '06 at another dealership and have requested a quote.

I'll post once I know how things turn out!

Anyone else have an opinion or experience?

Your offer sounds fair to me.
I paid $30,834 plus desination for my 07.

Yeah, offer them $29.5k out the door (hoping for 30k out the door). Those 3 06's sitting on their lot is just money they are wasting. Make sure they know you know that it costs them money (in the form of invested capital) to have those cars just sitting.

28k is a steal imo.
