Default next car = s2000

well im pretty sure that i have made up my mind to purchase a s2k as my next car. i have started looking this week and will probably make the purchase in the fall. i am a honda guy and have owned my 94 integra ls for 6 yrs now. it is my first car and it is time to move on to something better. im only 22 and i dont drive to work since i work in nyc, so i wont have to worry about putting a lot of miles on my next car. i just have to get an insurance quote, which im kinda scared cause i know its going to be high even though i have a clean record. being young and living in bergen county, nj sucks when it comes to car insurance.

i started with 3 cars in mind; g35, 350z and the s2000. the s2000 is the cheapest, best on gas and sexiest. plus its a honda. i have driven all of these cars, as i used to valet in college, so i know what they are like. i am looking at an 02 or 03 since i have found a few under $20k.

i am definitly not new to the forum world. i have been a long term member on team-integra.net and honda-tech. so i have started reading s2ki.com this week and found some useful info. i hope to learn a lot more about the s2000 as well as contribute to this forum in the future.

well im going to look at a 2004 this weekend. its light blue with a blue interior. it has 29k on it and the price is $21k.

i have read all of the common topic and FAQs, but is there anything i should look for? im going to check the oil level because of the oil consumption problem that these cars have, even though it was supposedely fixed in 04. anything specific i should look for before i purchase it? anything i should look for in the clutch? the way it drives? any help is appreciated.

Good luck this weekend on the 04 S2000. BTW light blue=suzuka blue in s2k speak

This faq on used s2ks helped me immensely on my used purchase.
https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.ph...T&f=1&t=271158

I didn't check all the things on the list, but I somethings I looked for were fluid levels, curb rash, funny noises coming from the engine, alignment, and passenger side door dings.

I would take it up to ~7000 rpm or so at least once to make sure everythings working under the hood. Don't forget to let it warm up to 3 bars on the temp gauge before you do this...Hope this helps.
