Hey guys, im new to the S2K's but not new to the car scene. Im very interested in a s2k but im clueless on the differences in between years of this car. Is there any major difference between years performances wise? Please help shed some light on a soon-to-be s2k owner

-2.0 liter engine

ap2: 04+
-04-current
-8k redline
-2.2 liter engine
-improved suspension (anybody wants to argue, go watch battle at 10k rpm)
-slight hp/tq improvement
-new headlight, tailight, front and rear bumper.
-06 has dbw and traction control
-better stereo

 

im on a 17k budget on the s2k, so most likely ill b getting a 02 s2k. Engine wise, not a big difference between ap1 and ap2?

 

AP2 is less sluggish in the Low range, and the earlier part of the midrange. The Car is also geared for the lower redline and increased displacement. $17K may be able to get an '03 AP1.
