Default New to the s2k world but longtime gearhead

Just thought I would stop by to learn a little before I buy. I am thinking i would like to build an s2000 with around 300-400 HP. I dont know if this is reasonable or not. or what the best way to go about it is. I have years of expierence as a certified gearhead. But most of it has been with 2 strokes and stock motors. this will be my first 4 cylinder build, and I'm not sure how much potential this motor has. So feel free to enlighten me.

The cheapest way to get that would be FI, if your more into the lower range of 300-400 whp then go with the greddy turbo kit. That is good for about 320-350 whp. There are others pushing 500+ on stock motors.

Thanks, any idea how much it will cost to use said turbo kit. I am currently stationed in germany and will be waiting till I get back to the states to do the build so I have time to saveup some money. Also just from looking around it would seem like 240-300hp would be more feasible. is that the case or am i just not looking hard enough.

If you go with any FI kit, you'll be able to easily get 300-400 HP. You can go with the Greddy turbo kit, Comptech/CT Engineering S/C, Science of Speed S/C, or the Kraftwerks S/C kit for anywhere from $5000-$7000(excluding installation). If you want to do it up right, then you'll have to shell out extra $7000 or so for the clutch upgrade, rear end upgrade, and big brake kit. All the S/C base kits will boost the HP to over 300 @ the rear wheels. Good luck with your build.

I say go with a turbo kit of your liking, AEM EMS, and a clutch that will hold the power you want and feels right for you.

For 300-400 definitely would recommend a supercharger kit. greddy is good for 320 max horsepower and really dies up top. Tiny turbo.
SOS non self lubricated model 10 psi or so can be at 380whp or so I believe. Nice and reliable unlike most turbo set ups and great power. Easy to daily drive still if you want as well.
NA is a waste if you want gains with this car.
