Default New s2k owner... Couple of questions

So in have wanted a s2k since it came out... Always wanted red with the black red interior.....but I could never get there in time before it was sold. I must of had 3 or 4 sold before I got there....so I settled for blue since I got it for a good price. It's a 2002 with 130k...everything is stock.

A couple of things....first I am reallllly disappointed in the radio and speakers....not to mention the large button used for mode should be the tune button...but if I were to go aftermarket I guess I would have to say goodbye to those controls. The clutch on this car is supper stuff stiffer than the other s2ks I have test driven. My leg feels like I came back from the gym after driving.

Now what type of maintainence should I plan on doing? I plan on doin with oil/tranny fluid/rear diff fluid since I have no idea when they were last changed.

How do you guys feel about the eBay CAI? I have also been looking into the stock exhaust mod. I guess I need a welder for that.

Once last thing the previous owner must have gotten the bumper and fender painted because they are fading a little bit. How much can I expect those to cost to have them reprinted?

Welcome!

To answer your first question The stock sound system isn't great. The only way in my opinion to get things sounding good is adding an amp, if you were to swap out your deck and speakers you can get a DCI which allows you to retain use of the steering controls.

modifry.com sells them

As for the maintenance, do all your fluid changes. I would do brakes and clutch as well to give yourself a baseline for everything. Either by yourself if you know how or at a shop. Depending on where you are local to, Im sure there's someone around that can help you out to keep costs down.

As for the clutch feel, I know how to adjust the engagement level but not so much the feel. Maybe someone else can chime in.

When it comes to CAI if you live in a wet place you may want to watch out about water getting into your intake system. A lot of people seem to prefer the K&N intake

Any objections to going aftermarket with exhaust ? Mugen and Fujitsubo both have quiet duals that are slightly louder than stock with little to no drone

As for resprays. Expect 200$ for a bumper respray and another 100-150 for a fender. Prices do vary though
